hi there, just started doing portraits, so any comments on composition, colouring, pose, etc.etc. would be helpful.

I love this shot. Lovely light and shade. What settings did you use? What have you done in post production?

I would crop some of the black on the right hand side so she is not so centred.

Excellent potrait. Nice PP.Only thing as somebody said, the right side could have been cropped , since that black portion is occupying more than 1/3rd of your frame. Otherwise I loved it

thanks for the suggestions! ill def. take it into account

er.. i used lightroom for the pp work, its basicaly a combination of clarity, temp, and exposures... sorry, again .still a noob with the terms...

I used a 70-200mm .. on f2.8 , can't really recall the settings sorry.. im still a beginner on these kindda things ..

Open your image in Flickr, look at the right side, and you'll see a link to more properties. Click that then cut and paste only the info that's relevant to the image.

I edited your original post and added the EXIF info that people want to see.


I like your second shot best. The first one seems to have some serious harsh light going on.

very nice work! I agree that a crop would improve the first shot overall. The second shot is better still.
