Rachel Prom 6

Hi, Tried posting this the other day but had trouble. We are new and would like to get some feedback, please. Is the lighting right? Composition? Should I have cropped it more? Should we have had her a little more turned? Rachel is in love with this pic but I'd like some more feedback. Thanks.

Exposure: 0.004 sec (1/250)
Aperture: f/5.2

I guess the first vote for it came from yr subject which is always a high priority , I think if she was turned slightly more to her right it may have given a little more depth and taken away that flattish feel to it , I'm personally not that keen on the overexposed background (personal taste) a darker background may have had her popping out a little more , although with her beautiful hair she is quite stunning and the blue really suits her . I can see why she loves it . All the best .

Thanks, these are of our daughter just before prom and this one was very rushed. She and her date were getting a little tired of pictures by this point. Thanks for the pointers.

Just as a little side note you may want to check with the rules for posting ufortunatley we are limited to one critique post per 24hrs I think I saw another from you guys , dont want to see you offside with the mods or having one of these deleted , although they are pretty good and you may find that they combine yr posts . All the best .

My mistake sincerest apologies .

I think the way she was turned is fine. The hair frames her face nicely. The blown out background is a bit blah but her hair compensates for it a bit.

I'd have to agree that the lighting is a bit flat but you can tweak that in post processing easy enough.

Let me know if you want it tweaked and I can see what I can do.

Sure, if you can tweak it to show me what you are talking about, I'd appreciate it.

Maybe it's just me, but I think the eyes look a bit too dark.

Here you go. Two different edits. The first one I used a few different layers and Topaz Adjust.

From DPS

This one here I just used two layers. One curves and another a screen layer to make the eyes pop a bit more.
