Default ... I Forgot That Love Exists...

... I Forgot That Love Existed...

This photo is part of a project I am currently working on titled "Urban Portraits". I am trying to focus on faces that can talk without words. A great part of my project portraits the Homeless who inhabit our towns...

I would like to know if the settings I used on the camera to obtain this picture are correct or should I use different measures?

Also, do you think this photo could benefit if made in black and white version?

What about composition? Right? Wrong?

Thank you

Mel

I think the settings were fine - plenty of depth of field to get the details of the face and the close framing avoids distractions from the background anyway.

I'm not sure I would advise removing the colour; there is a danger it would come out much colder looking.

Will all the series use similar proportions for framing the subjects?

Thank you, Wulf,

First of all, I was told that my picture had been removed, hence my last mail to you....

Now, regarding your comment, which I so highly appreciate, I'm glad you agree with the settings and the way I presented the photo.

The reason I asked about black and white, is that some people have told me to try it, but I agree with you, it would lose its warmth, which, in my opinion is part of the message.

The other pictures in my project tend to follow this method. I will try and post one at a time and will be looking forward to your commenting it.

Once again, thank you for your attention.

Regards

I like it. I WOULD try b&w, though. It really works for this kind of work - I posted a similar pic myself on this forum. Being digital, you're not losing anything by trying. Check it out, and then choose your favorite version.

My very first thought was " this would be a great b/w". But then after reading the other comments, I see how I jumped straight to technique without really considering if it fit the subject.

Looking at it in color says to me... A kind warm hearted man, that has seen alot.

You could play with a b/w, but I think you have a keeper here.

a good one... usually its a horizontal look to the camera... you snapped him from the top making him peering upwards to your camera... he does look like asking heaven "i forgot love exist..." a good one man...
