Critique my style of portraiture

I shot my kids using available light in our clubhouse as my own challenge because I have a slow lens and no flash. I want to do portraiture for clients, but when I look at my photos, I am not sure they are portraiture style. Do these photos look like portraiture? Should I do something different in posing, environment, background for my photos to look like portraits?

I think this is a portrait. It's kind of a lifestyle photography. It all depends what you wnat to do-a studio portraits, candids or? Personally I don't like posed studio shots. I'm more of a lifestyle phorographer.
This is a good pic but the ISO is so high.

I think it's a nice picture, but looks a little flat. I would add just a little contrast.
