Default With rapt attention

He is my 14 months old nephew, I took a series of shots in burst mode as he was crawling on our terrace with his blue ball. It was very sunny, so I had to compromise my exposure reading to his skin color and over exposed the foreground.

EXIF:
Camera D50
ISO200, F/8, 1/160, Aperture Priority, 75mm

Is the foreground too bright to concentrate on the him?
I cropped a bit from the right because the background was distracting, is this crop working?
Could I have done any PP to improve this picture?

Thanks,

Nice focus and depth of field to your photo!

I think toning down the highlights and increasing the contrast of your nephew would improve the photograph. But that could all be done PP, right?
