Default Work on my Black and White Conversions

Up until recently I have been using Picasa to do black and white conversions. I recently started trying a little harder and using Gimp. I would apriciate some critiques and helpful hints. Thank you.

gorgeous photo.
i am just a beginer so i cant really give any "proper" advice, but maybe you may be able to edit the backround so it was plain white, without the creases in the material? that would be my only suggestion, but i could be wring, as i dont know much myself. lol

I just switched from picasa to Gimp also. I love your photo but you might open that photo in the levels dialog and try the auto button or pick the colors individually. It could help the contrast a bit.

You could, but I kinda like lo contrast b&w's with babies, nothing too edgy. As to the wrinkles, I would clone out the big ones in the corners if you can but leave the little ones in the part hanging behind him, it helps show there is actually a backdrop and adds texture...

Lovely shot! Maybe brighten it just a tad...

Thumbs up Musik320

Beautiful picture. I would clone out the big wrinkle but leave the ones around his feet. I love baby portraits......wonderful.
