Default Playing with Nolon

I've been practicing with my kids and here's what I came up this morning with my son Nolon. He was seated with the window (main light) on his left and I felt there was enough ambient light so the shadows wouldn't be too much. I had him turned slightly facing the window. Did I think it out right?

Playing with Nolon

Camera: Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTi
Exposure: 0.01 sec (1/100)
Aperture: f/2.2
Focal Length: 50 mm
ISO Speed: 800
Exposure Bias: 0/3 EV
Flash: Flash did not fire

You are right peeper...I sometimes forget about the glasses until the shot is taken. It can be challenging sometimes.

Wonderful lighting but I am craving a bit more focus in the eyes to really make them pop!

Looks like focus caught nose/mouth, is that what you were going for?

Thanks KodiakStar...actually, I was using his left as my focal point. Now, whether that's what happened or not is another story.

I'll have to open it up in the Canon browser to see which focus point was used.

Hmmm. The point that I chose is focused right above the glasses of the left eye. I wonder why the nose and mouth are more sharp.

I think you did too good. Not only with the lighting, but the emotion also.

The ZoomBrowser EX software that came with the camera. I couldn't remember the name until after I posted and went to check it.

Default nolon

window lighting is one of the best lighting in available light system......the exposure is right...his expressions are of a silent nature......in focusing, we use the words '''EYES SPEAK'''.so total focus shd be on eyes......good efforts.
