She's a pretty girl, you just need to bring it out! If you look at her face, what do you see? What don't you see? I DON"T see her eyes, eyebrows, or her lips. These facial features are what we are drawn to, so they need to come out. try Fresh Mascara in SuperNova, Bird of Paradise Gloss by Becca (it's a shiny basically clear gloss designed to highlight areas. You know that little corner of the inside of your eye against the bridge of your nose? Just dab a little gloss right there, and this will make eyes pop), www.beccacosmetics.com is where you would order this. I know you're in NC. idk where, but if you are close to Charlotte, there's a fabulous shop there called Potion. I think they have 2 locations now. They sell all the becca products. Trust me- they are worth it! Don't give you that I am wearing make-up feel. the loose shimmer powder- in nymph or angel would really work with her coloring.

I think she would probably spend maybe 50 bucks on all 3 of these products (the mascara is expensive but sooo worth it!- won't give the "spider legs")

I use bird of paradise gloss daily. I bought it a year ago, and I have yet to see where I have made a dent in it, same with the powder. This stuff will last forever. My nymph shimmer powder was purchased almost 4 years ago, and the only reason there's any missing is because i spilled it everywhere! it's still going strong, so it's totally worth it.

you also need to darken her eyebrows some. arbonne makes a great brow wax, but their stuff is pricey, and the sales people tend to be pushy. find a brow pencil or wax or just use some dark eyeshadow with a small brush. her eyebrows just disappear.

she will enjoy the finished portrait so much better if her lovely face didn't just blend in with her hair.

Talking One more time!

I've got some time set up again with this lady on Saturday or maybe Sunday. I'm hoping we can both take all the advice from this thread as well as my original thread to come up with something really nice.

Any further advice, suggestions, comments or criticisms on either of these shoots would be much appreicated. Especially as far as camera angles, lighting and posing go.

As far as lighting, I have 3 daylight balanced CFLs on light stands and 2 shoot through umbrellas. I also have the FL-36 that I use with my Olympus e510. And there are two adjacent windows in my 'studio' that offer some natural light. Walls are all painted white and I have a diffuser/4-color reflector.

TIA!!

i looked at the set and what i came away with is the lack of sharpness in the face on every one. you seem to be focused on different areas but not the face which i believe would make these much better. i see focus on the hand in a couple and in the head shot i see focus on her necklace area. hope this helps.
