Andy, I love this photo. Love the dramatic effect and the angle.
What a fabulous job for a first-time self portrait! As a suggestion for next time, what about bringing the lighting and camera up for a higher perspective? I thought that this would be difficult, so perhaps if you actually crouch or sit on the ground to get this type of shot? Would love to see more of your face looking up just as variety. Cheers Andy, I love your passion. Grace |

![]() I was quite restricted by the angle of the light as it was fixed to a wall, so I'm probably quite lucky that I could get any type of usable angle for a shot from it. I hadn't even thought about different perspectives until you mentioned it, I just kind of stood where I needed to for the light to illuminate me and then set everything up from there... but i'll keep your suggestions in mind should I do any shots like this in future. There's a famous dutch photographer called Anton Corbijn who uses lines a lot in his pics, so I took a lot of inspiration for this pic from his work, if you haven't heard of him I'd highly recommend checking out some of his stuff ![]() I have another couple of shots from the series to post yet for critique so please keep an eye out as I'll post them soon |

Can't wait to see more photos! I'm probably going to post some after the wedding as I'm sure I'll need some technical help. Sigh. Cheers, G.- |

![]() Have you seen the film "control"? Anton directed it and it's really good! I think I might continue my series of B&W shots and see where it takes me... I'll also be doing wedding stuff etc, but it's great to find something like this to do as helps keep my mind sharp. Will post another one from this set tomorrow if I get the chance
