Question Went in-studio - lost my touch?

Decided to go in-studio, hubby spent lots of money on umbrella lights (a silver reflective and a white shoot-through), new backdrops, a new lens (not used for this shot), and I totally re-trained myself on my camera... can't seem to get a decent quality shot! I have GREAT results outdoors - getting VERY discouraged! Help!

this is my daughter - silver reflective at 45 degrees to her left and high above her head, white shoot-through at 45 degrees to her right and at eye level, ISO 100, F4.5, 1/125. Thanks!

You need more ambient light, in my opinion. The camera is only picking up the lights, which are weak because your ISO is at 100... bump that to 400 & bring your shutter speed down to 1/100. Then have another look and if it is too bright, knock your aperture to f8.

so i'm guessing they are continuous lights and not strobes as GP points out you're under powered. You white balance is off but that maybe a function of being under exposed. Subjuct is too close to the background giving you shadows. So as GingerPixie suggest up your camera sensitivity and get more light in. Also move your lights in closer, just out of camera frame. check your white balance or do a custom white balance.

Red face Thanks!

Thank you all for the help - indoor photography is a whole different ballgame. It's nice to see the different tricks and tips - the book just doesn't seem to cover all the bases! Thanks again!
