Purpose: Single source lighting using soft silver car sunshade and shot-through umbrella
The major difference between this single source portrait with the previous two portrait is that, soft silver car sun shade is put horizontally @ his chest level rather than vertically. And, main light is straight in front instead of side or 45 degree to the subject. Main light source: shot through umbrella with 2 YN560 @ 1/4 power level straight in front of baby, but slightly higher. Soft silver car sun shade was put on the dinning table in front of him, while he was having his dinner. ![]() Experience: This type of portrait is the easiest where you don't have to spend too much time finding the right angle. Just put the light source behind you and shot. You may try to use on-camera flash to shot behind and put white board as described in the article below. The only difference is the reflector. The wall is too near him (2 feet instead of planned 10 feet) Previous single source lighting includes : a) emulated window light portrait b) side lighting / side reflection portrait And you can find those pictures at http://digital-photography-school.co...-portrait.html Question 1: Well, how do you find the single source lighting? Question 2: Do you think this kind of lighting is suitable for old man and woman? why? Question 3: Please refer to the ulbum above for window-light portrait. Do you think that kind of portrait is only suitable for man and not for woman? why? Thanks very much for the comments. Note: I will break for 2 days for holiday ;D...
