Default Silhouette self portrait

Camera Data
Make: NIKON CORPORATION
Model :NIKON D3000
Shutter Speed: 1/200 second
Aperture :F/3.5
Focal Length: 18 mm
ISO Speed: 100
Date Taken: Jan 8, 2012, 2:29:58 PM
Software: Adobe Photoshop CS5 Windows

For this shot I was standing in front of my bedroom window. I was running the self-timer so it was a bit hard to get into place every time. Anyway, I think I should have used another window maybe? Or what do you think?

I think this is a cool idea- definitely an unconventional approach to a self-portrait. The only critique I have is the placement- my attention keeps drifting to the dark post on your left side. I think it would have more of an impact if that weren't on the side of the shot. Can you move over a foot and shoot it again?

For me silhouettes are a bit difficult to capture.. and for a self portrait.. it's even harder. So good job on that part..

I'd zoom out a little to give some more space around your silhouette and make the background simpler.

Hope this helps.

Okay I'll try it again, but I'll use a different door/window with more space next time. Thank you

I had to crop it a lot to get out 'ugly' bits. So I'll try it again and see what happens. Thank you

I would stand in a different position. Maybe lean on the window frame with your arm up over your head, or put both hands on top your head, or do a side profile leaning against the frame.

Just me thoughts......

I like the idea though and the technical bits
