Default I went low budget

And just used 2 lamps with a white daytime bulbs. One behind me, and the other lower and to one side.

Congrats on your 52 week project.

I'm no lighting expert, but I would like to see more light behind you to remove you from the dark background. You are dark skinned with dark hair, dark eye shadow, dark garment. If this was a conscious artistic decision, then more power to you.

Was your hair being blown by a fan or did you whip your head to get the hair effect? I'm trying to figure out why the 1/1000 and the noise inducing high ISO.

I like your face half in light/dark. I only wish the dark was not quite so dark. Your hair is lovely and much of the details are lost in the shadows.

This is one person's thoughts. As with any art, it is very subjective. If you met your goals for the shot, then good on ya!

Default Thanks for the response!

I agree. In retrospect, I should've gone with a slower shutter speed and a lower ISO. I actually had to compensate a bit in photoshop to get it this much detail. I had some light behind me, but I think I positioned it too low.I guess this is the good part about 52 weeks. Lot's of time to learn and improve.

I whipped my head for the effect.
