Default correct exposure?

Is the exposure in this photo okay? I've noticed the majority of my shots end up underexposed and it's difficult for me to tell when it's gone "too far". This was taken indoor in the evening using an index card to bounce the flash. Any advice is welcome I'm here to improve!

I think the exposure looks pretty close. It might be just a touch hot on his forehead, but generally speaking, I think you've done well here.

The one thing I notice is the image looks a little pink/magenta in white balance.

I definitely see the white balance issue. I guess that'd be an easy fix! Thank you.
