I don't mind the tight crop and do like the windblown effect of the hair. The most glaring aspect of the shot is the eyes are a bit soft. Traditionally, with portrait photography the eyes should be the sharpest thing in the shot. Your shutter speed was pretty low if you handheld this shot. The lack of sharpness may be due to camera shake.
Pretty model and nice expression.

I have to say that it's underexposed and the focus is to soft around her eyes, the most important part. I don't mind the gray, newspaper feel to the photo, but the underexposure is a little too much.
Your shutter speed is too slow. F/25 would require a tripod and a non-moving subject. You needed at least f/60 but would have preferably used minimum f/90 to minimise motion blur. Seeing how low the lighting is, I would have faced her somewhere brighter like a window during daytime or used higher power off-camera diffused lighting to camera left. Some tweaking and this would work. |
