Just my opinion but it feels kinda creepy to me. Like it needs a ghost or something.

I don't feel that the shot is cheesy, or if it is cheesy it's the acceptable kind since I'm assuming this little girl was part of the wedding party, maybe the flower girl. The family (of the girl) would surely enjoy this shot.
The thing that is bothering me about this shot is the room seems to be sliding. The lines of the wood floor, railing on back wall, and ceiling are angled in a way that gives me the feeling of a carnival house with shifting floors. I'm not sure if a different crop would fix it for me or not. |

i agree with you! don't know if its the editing treatment paired with the age/style of the house.....but def kinda gives a creepy/haunted house feel lol....oh just had a thought! also like the selective redish colors are a big symbol in ghost movies remember that from 6th sense i think....

You are completely right about the sloping effect... I didn't really have time to compose the image as she just briefly pointed at the balloon and I took the shot quickly as was worried about missing it if I took more than a second. I considered correcting it PP but didn't feel I could rotate it enough without chopping off some of the balloon. I too think the couple will like the pic, but I'll admit it is far from perfect, but at least someone else feels it's not overly cheesy

Petsonally i hate it when people cringe at selective colour, i think its fine when done well.
I think if you desaturate by 50 percent you have a bit of a banksy style thing. |

if it was done in film and dark room processing then it would be interesting, but digital selective coloring, not so much... It takes away from the photo and shows the rest of the photo couldn't handle holding itself without the special effects. It depends on the application of the photo if it was a movie poster then it could work with special effects as many, many modern movie posters uses the selective coloring effect.
