Okay, I really like this photo but, somethings not right. Crop? Saturation? ... I'm not sure. Please help me out. I used picnik to edit. You can edit my photo and post as a comment to show me anything as long as it stays on DPS and you don't , like, steal it. Any comments and critique are completely welcome. You don't have to go easy. Please give feedback.

Also, since its not the original photo, flickr didn't give me any exif info. Sorry.

I'll give you my $.02 since nobody has posted. First thing I would change is the crop. Get rid of that space on the right and take a little off the top. Good job following the rule of thirds. To be perfectly honest, I do not like the trees in the background, its very distracting for me. More so the sky behind the trees is distracting to me, that big open space of white sky draws my attention away from the subject. Next time when you have distracting backgrounds, try lowering the f/stop to create a shallow depth of field so you can keep your subject the main focus of the picture. Of course you might want to consider this before you take the picture and move your subject away from the blown out sky. I always take multiple pictures with a variety of settings just in case I muff up. Hope this helps you, keep shooting

I agree with Wolfsburg.
And I do wish to see more of that great reflection on the car and less wood.
I really like the exposure on him and the car, and the car seems awesome, wish to see more of it

I too would like to see more of the car in the photo. It feels unfinished without it

I totally agree with windrider here, I dont see the point of shooting the subject on the car where the car is mostly cropped out of the shot...

Hi there, I agree about the need to show more of the car... I think it's an RX7 if i'm not mistaken anyway... you can use post processing to fade the edges to emphasize the subject in the middle to that he becomes the focal point of the picture.
This is an example. I took this picture wanting to show the ice. However too much vegetation around the ice meant the ice was lost in in the "mess"... I faded the edges using picasa and now the focal point is the ice

I would show more of the car, and less of the woods background. Especially if it's an RX7. By the mirrors it looks like it would be a last generation RX7 and a lot more rare to come across. That and since it is about boys and their cars, would show the car that the subject is proud of and not leave people guessing. Just my .02 though.
