Question Tantric Shot

Hi people,

As a beginner this is my first night photography. This happens when there is a total power failure. My sister is sitting in center and with the help of a small china torch she switch it on the torch by facing downwards for 2sec in one half of her body part say "knee, hip, shoulder, neck and head" in left side and by the same for right side too.. With 30sec delay I framed this photograph.

Nikon D3000/30s/100ISO

Hey Richard thanks for your info. I resized to the pic... How can I improve the photo to make the subject more clear and expressing in an uncluttered way.

Was you wanting the whole body to be blurred or just the arms?

I would have done one shot with a faster shutter speed to focus her head and body, then another shot with a slow shutter speed to blur the arms. Then I would photoshop the two together to get the desired effect.

The stuff in the background is distracting. I find myself being drawn to whatever that is at her left, and the bed to her right.

Conceptually, I think this is interesting, but the execution isn't quite there.

Her shirt is overexposed and the background needs to be clean. You might need an ND filter to really get the desired effect.
