Default First Critique - A Thai Child

New to the forums, new to critiquing, my self-deprecating side is looking forward to this.
Just returned from Thailand, and the first time I shot 99% manual with my T2i. Needless to say I made plenty of mistakes but learned a lot. Anyway I was curious about this image. I feel somewhat drawn to it, but I think it has focus issues (her eyes aren’t perfectly sharp, but is it obvious?) and I can’t seem to get the white balance right. Is she a little too green? Is the shot over saturated/too much vibrance? How about the composition, do the stairs ruin it? It’s not cropped at all. Anyway, have at it, it’s much appreciated.

EXIF:
Camera Canon EOS REBEL T2i
Exposure 0.008 sec (1/125)
Aperture f/4.0
Focal Length 40 mm
ISO Speed 400

Chiang Mai

I couldn't tell you about exposure or colors or whatever as I am trying to learn all that myself, but I would crop much closer to the girl.

wow, I love the colors in this shot, but I also agree, either a closer crop, or if you could have gotten a wider angle, would have helped- i personally would have liked to see more of the girl's body included- cropping at the chest seems a little awkward. It doesn't seem oversaturated to me, but others might disagree.

Ooooh I love it.

Possibly oversaturated a tad but I think that's kinda the point of this photo - such stunning colours. Actually, I would just say that the pink at the top of her hat border is too bright you lose detail.

I disagree with the previous poster. I like the composition the way it is. And the focus seems fine to me at this size anyhoo.

Lovely.

Edit: second thoughts with regards to composition I would prefer to see a little more of the girl, but that's not possible I presume.

As a candid it's very nice and works quite well.... I think it needs a minor levels adjustment. Maybe a touch green.

If it were more of a "documentary" shot I would prefer to see more of the girl and probably taken with her higher on the stairs where the tiles run more horizontally.

Thank you all very much for the feedback. Sadly this is as wide as it gets, but I agree I wish I would have shot it a little wider and gotten more of her elaborate outfit. The mid-chest crop is quite awkward. I see now that the saturation is causing some loss of detail in her hat, as the pink is a little bright, and I will definitely adjust that for the better.
