Default Random candid that I thought turned out well... thoughts?

My first post to DSP. This was a random candid shot of my little guy this weekend, he's always got those fingers in this mouth Day 6 with my very first DSLR. Any thoughts, comments, critiques?

What a nice little cutie pie. Welcome to DPS.

Per the guidelines one should ask specific question(s). You did do well on prodiving the EXIF data.

Nice sharp eyes and there is some catch light in there! Many miss focussing on the eyes. You utilized the Rule of Thirds. For me, there is a bit too much negative space on the right side of the frame. Can you crop again removing some of that space? Can you move him more toward but not smack in the middle of the frame? If so, does it cut his right arm stangely? If it does, then don't move him more toward the middle.

May I suggest going to the tutorial section of this forum and give some of the turtorials that interest you a read. I do reccomend the tutorials on composition and the exposure triangle.

Keep at it and keep posting and asking questions.

You know, I totally read the rules about needing to have a specific question, and then I just completely forgot! Thanks for the reminder! The picture I posted was straight from the camera, no editing or cropping... but I did a bit of cropping to move him towards the center more and decrease some of the right dead space. I think I really like it!! It really puts his eyes in a better spot of the picture, I think. What do you think of this crop?

I will look into the tutorials! Thanks for the warm welcome and not completely looking me over just cuz I forgot to ask a specific question
