Really trying to understand my camera, working on potraits, i want to create my own unique style of portrait photography (as do most people.) Does this photo tell a story? Any Story? Is there a uniqueness to it?

I'm totally a self-learned mommy photographer, but I think this shot is great!! I think it totally tells a story, he looks like he's smiling and the snow covered hat shows he was having a lot of fun!

My .02, its a neat shot of YOUR kid, so that in and of itself makes it great to you. Never underestimate that value!

For broader appeal, I cannot really SEE a face though i get the IMPRESSION he is smiling, but I have no clue what he is focused on, snow man, sledding, snowball fight? Something in the background might give more meaning and a little more face might help bring this one out. His friend in the back ground, i dunno... or more of his face might bring out more emotion or open the door into his mental state....

But I too have alot of pics of my kid that i love cause it is MY kid and it bring back a great memory but you or someone else wouldn't take away a whole lot of meaning from it
