Default General Portraiture

This is my very first post on DPS. I have been reading and observing here for over a year. Here is a phot of my son that I took over the summer. I would like a general critique of the image. Exposure, Composition, Crop, Post Processing, etc. What can I do better? What have ai done well. Please be as harsh as possible. I can take it.

Exif:
ISO 200
62 mm
F 2.8
1/125

Personal opinion:

I would have left a little more space above his head, your close to clipping here and may have gotten some of his hair.

I find the background a little distracting as the colors are fighting with his shirt.

His shirt looks a little to red to me, did you raise the vibrance or saturation at all?

I agree with the crop being a little close to the top of the head. As far as the vibrance or saturation, I did a curves adjustment in LAB mode in photoshop to increase the saturation. I may have gone too far. Thanks a ton!
