Default Get a room! Composition feedback please

Summer in Old Montreal you will witness 15 Weddings just by walking around...

I was walking and saw this scene of newly weds kissing and I saw the limousine chauffeur giving them the angry look... I guess he had somewhere else to be and wanted to drop them asap :-)

His look makes the shot for me...

The rest of the story on this picture is that outside the frame, you have a wedding photographer taking shot of the couple kissing...

2 points of view :-)

I would appreciate your comments on composition (or anything else).

thanks

Quite honestly, it looks like the limo driver is dealing with the rest of the people. The Bride/Groom are not with them?? the other people in the scene, look like they are the ones waiting to get into the limo, lol.

My first reaction was confusion. I wasn't quite sure where you as the photographer wanted me to look because the lines seem to be pointing at the crowd of people waiting by the limo. At first look it feels very busy, and doesn't draw your eyes immediately to the newly weds.
However, as I look more at the photo I love the way the couple is in a hot spot, and the spot of color caused by the stop sign. I also admire how you softened the people in the background. It gives a feel like the couple is in their own little world, and really they don't care that the wedding party is waiting, or that she's even sitting on a dirty curb in her wedding dress.
It could be less busy, but the seclusion of the married couple is very sweet.

This is one of those candid moments where you do just have to appreciate that moment and you prioritise just snapping the photo as you don't even have time to blink, much more worry about the technicalities of photography.

Composition wise, it is what it is and we can appreciate seeing a glimpse of this moment. If we can only freeze that moment in time to set up our shot better, I guess I would take the photo closer to the bride and groom, and I mean so close at an arm's length to the couple and take the shot from behind the groom and the limo driver is just visible behind the bride. But that's not reality as if you actually did that, they will be conscious of you taking the photo and then the moment is gone.

Love the photo and great eye for even seeing this!

Love your work.

Cheers,

Grace

I agree with this.
I think that if opened your aperture much more so that the couple was really separated from the people in the background, it would be even stronger. I really like the little story the shot tells though. Nice image!
