Default Veteran Photo

Decided to do a shot this weekend with a Vet and his daughter since it is Veterans Day weekend.

Could you please tell me how I did with my processing?

D700
105mm
F/4.5
ISO 200
S 1/40
No flash

Taken outside with US Flag as back drop.

In processing I would bump up the contrast, but thats just my preference, otherwise than that I would crop the little tiny bit of red from the flag creeping into the right side of the frame. Otherwise its a good photo.

Off-Topic: Is that you in the photo?

Yes that is me. I was wondering if any one would notice or not.

I'll be adjusting the red in photoshop and I tried to raise the contrast before I came out with this product and I didn't like the look of it.

You don't need to increase the contrast. There's enough of it already. That pink blanket will blow out if you do it anymore

I think you did fine with this shot. Love the baby looking up as it lightened her face which is great. The only thing that I would adjust is just doing a little dodge on your face as it's just a little bit underexposed. Easy to fix in editing.

Great shot and well done! For the baby and for the service you give to your country

Cheers,

Grace

Not sure if it is just my screen, but the white parts of the flag look a little grayish green to me.

The flag is three years old and has faded to what you see now. Thank you for bringing that to my attention as I'll get a new one now.

I would've brought the whole shot down some- bringing the top of the frame closer to your head and showing the bottom edge of your jacket.
Also, i think the baby seems a little far away from you.
Other than that, great picture! Thank you for your service!
