Default Help with Protrait

Hi all
I was lucky enough to get a shot of David Palmer AKA Robert E. Lee at a reenactment. This was an impromptu shot against a gray screen I had brought out to the event. I had to crop the image to remove the border of the gray screen and tried process to get a vintage feel. Please tell me what I can do to improve overall look and feel.

Thanks

Make sure the contrast in the photo is high, and sharpen it as well. if you would like to email it to me, i can edit it and sent you the original and the edited to show you the differences. I will also tell you what i did with this photo. I will not take credit for the photo if you are interested in sending it to me.

From what I've seen in the past of original photo plates is a relatively shallow depth of field. So you might consider blurring the backdrop a tad. Also, plates are sometimes beat up a bit, so scratches and color shifts might be a nice addition.
