I don't really see anything much wrong technically with this photo. The conversion is good, the lighting is fine, etc. The problem is that your main subjects, being the car and passerby giving directions, are too far and that you can't really see much details. It almost feels as if the tunnel is the main subject and the car and person are just backgrounds (they just happen to be there).

But this is a good you know, for a starter so keep it up! Would like to see more of your work in the near future

Cheers,

Grace

Hi Grace, thanks for you comments. I do see what you mean about my main subjects being too far away. Sadly this was one of those "in the moment" kind of shots where it was gone shortly after hitting the shutter button. Do you think if I stood flush to the entrance of the tunnel, that would have been a better set up?

Considering this is a very contrasty subject matter with a mix of very dark and very bright areas, you, and/or the camera did a very good job on the exposure. I also feel it's a strong composition, and a decent black and white conversion. The only nit that I have is that the subject car and person seems to be soft. It looks like the point of focus was near the bridge face and not on the subjects. It could just be this low rez copy that's exacerbating this, and without seeing the full rez image it's hard to be sure how good the focus is...but nice photo
