Hello everyone, now with something different than my last few uploads, still with enviromental portraiture, but not the dark background/ well lit clean subject, something brighter, and noisier...
I took this on a gloomy day, golden hour so the light was sparse and my lens had no IS so I had to crank up the ISO, resulted in noise, added to that of sharpening because of using a sigma 70-200, not the sharpest around, I don't know what to ask exactly but I'm skeptical about the background (narrow field) and the DOF (could have included more birds in focus?) I don't know what to ask so any feedback please, plus if uploading this would mess the personal style I'm trying to put feet on? or does it go with the rest? here you go... ![]() Feed us, Daddy ! by Ahmed Yousry EXIF 1/200 f3.5 ISO 800 135mm |

I just love it! The only thing I would have changed, would be to not have cut off his head. Other than that, I think it's great. Nice job!

I too really like this photograph, the sky doesn't bother me at all. I don't mind blown out skies in cases like this. Only small thing is the head crop, and even that really doesn't bother mke tbhat much.

I really like the cooler tones in this, and I think noise actually adds to the character of it. And I like the shallow DOF and having some of the birds out of focus.
For some reason, the composition doesn't sit well with me. It just feels, well, off. It's partially the head chop, but I also think it's cutting off half the tractor as well. It just feels unbalanced to me. I'd love to see one where you pulled back a little, and got all of the man and tractor in the frame. |
