Default Bridal Portrait

I am looking to see if this image works for others. My bride is drawn to it, 2 things bug me. 1 is the shadow from the bride on the grooms right cheek and the other is the cropping of the car. It was the only way to compose it, because of crap in the way off frame camera left, I have other shots with the car that work better for me, but I do have to admit I love the involvement of the clouds, so I am hoping it does work and I am being nit picking.

I think you're getting very self-critcal. I love this shot. The only distracting thing for me is that leaf or something on the ground but apart from that its lovely!

If the couple love it then that is really all that matters! However, I am not bothered as much by the car as I am the corner of the roof on the left.

Yeah, I think just crop it tighter to remove the roof, and then the car I think won't matter as much being cropped. The lighting won't be as evident, too with a tighter crop. The shadow underneath the front car makes it very obvious where the lighting is coming from.

I'm not sure, but I think there's also just a tiny bit too much ground? Again, tighter crop may benefit with removing some of that.

At least the shadow on the groom's face isn't on his eyes. It kinda makes his face slimmer

Thanks Rachel, never even noticed the leaf, but a quick fix in post, so that sucker is gone.

I thought about loosing the roof in post, so that solidifies it for me. Thanks.

Don't really want to crop this one tighter as I want to keep them on thirds & the sky in the image. Like I said I have others with a tighter crop, what appealed to my wife was the sky and composition, so I think I will leave that intact.

Thanks guys.

For me, its too dark in the middle. and yes, the roof of the house has got to go.
Were you on a ladder? May I have a play at it?

My monitor here is a POS, so I look forward to getting home to look at this image. It does look better here, and my image is too dark here, so maybe I have my monitor at home jacked up too high on brightness.

Thanks for taking the time to do that.

I prefer windrider's crop as I was going to suggest a bit more crop from the top. Windrider cropped exactly where I was thinking. The image in the OP to me the happy couple get a bit lost to the background. Hmmmm...Am I starting to think like a REAL photographer? I'm not a fan of the PP style windrider chose. The entire image seems a bit overprocessed for my taste. A personal thing, I know.

While reading the OP posts, I was getting the impression the sky in the photo meant more to the photographer than the bride.

Scootermcq- You'll work it out and I have always been a fan of your work.
