Chris, if you did any edits at all they were done very well. At the original resolution I couldn't see any altered areas. I didn't go to the pixel level but if you are printing this at anything smaller than 16x22 then you should have no issues at all. Nicely done and a beautiful woman too.

I feel you over did the skin smoothing / blurring.
something there just feel too "smudged"
if you did any work on the eyes - nicely done

Thank you very much Jim. I wanted it to look as natural as possible. I really appreciate your feedback.

Did you look at the original size on his flickr? I can count the hair follicles on her nose. She is wearing a base makeup on her cheeks and this is what accounts for her smooth skin in those areas I think. The eyes are really well done in my opinion as well.

looking at the original size - you are right
you can see it's makeup.

Nah, I don't think so... No one does make up (that I know) with a line around the nose. There are pores in some areas and none in others. Don't get me wrong, I think your edit is not lacking from any beauty magazine, but I do feel MrJones called it in the first place.

+1 on what you said.

Being a woman (last time I checked this is the case), I wouldn't go out with quite detectable lines of foundation on my face especially if my photo is being take. There is that line on the nose - very detectable looking at it on flickr. Whether that is make up or not, the edit should clearly remove that line and redness on the nose.

On my monitor, too, she looks reddish that could be due to WB being off. No one has mentioned this so I am assuming that it's only my monitor, but I have a feeling that the redness is some sort of colourcast? I'm assuming that because her chest area is the right colour on my monitor in comparison to the rest of her face.

I think you've done alright with the retouch, you know if this is your first time. I would only pull back a bit on it, fix line and redness around nose and red cast on her face area.

Oh Jim!! Don't hide!! You can only give feedback according to what you see, as with anyone else. I'm not a professional photographer, either, but it doesn't and shouldn't stop us from giving advice, right? Even if it meant me being wrong.

If you do a poll on what people think of this photo, you will find that opinions will split between yey and ney.

But at the end of the day, it's what the OP gets out of this thread that matters and decides on his/her image.

Don't you dare crawl under a rock! Unless you have good beer stashed there
