Default Girl in Goldenrod Field

I was practicing some shots of my daughters in the evening sun. Does the lighting work in this shot or is it too yellowish? What about the pose and comp: does it seem too "staged"?

Camera Canon EOS REBEL T2i
Exposure 0.003 sec (1/400)
Aperture f/5.0
Focal Length 50 mm
ISO Speed 100

EXIF data

for my taste I would bump up the contrast levels... what do you mean by lighting, the natural/ambient lighting? I would also either blow out the background a bit more or bring the background more in focus like around f/10-f/12 for a more environmental portrait shot, for a bit more bokeh I would have shot this in f/2.8 instead of f/5. The pose is okay, just too much strings of hair on her face and especially her eyes, I would keep that area as clear and sharp as possible and not getting strings of hair would benefit that. The light hitting her cheek seems to be washed out for me (overexposed).

I don't mind the light color, but the exposure is just a little too hot on the left side of her face. (Right cheek.)

"Staged" is a subjective term, It all depends on what you're going for and what feel you want to impart in your image. There are some ways you can make for stronger compositions, in this case, maybe cropping in more tightly or moving her further to one side of the frame or the other, but pose is all about what you're trying to say in your image.

Thanks for the input guys. Taking it all in for future recollection. I guess by staged I meant, does it look natural. She's only 8 yrs old and I told her to walk towards me while looking down then glance up. Trying to catch that natural head tilted glance that I have in my head.
