Default Baby Girl

I'm new to this, I tried to post another thread but I didn't include the correct information and by the time I noticed I couldn't remember. I thought I'd try to post again. I really love this picture. She looks so adorable and I like how the background is almost the same color as her eyes.

Shot with- Canon EOS Rebel T3
ISO-1250
Exposure- 1/50
Aperture- 4.5
No Flash

What a cute little baby. Do you have any questions?

Great looking baby.
I think that the picture is not sharp enough. Next time try one focus point and focus on the eyes, you ll get much more better results.
Cheers

she is a cute baby. part of the reason it looks fuzzy and out of focus is that your shutter speed was slow. you don't mention your focal length, but your shutter speed should be at least 1/ twice the focal length. and for someone who doesn't know to hold still, like a baby (and wait till she starts to move!), i try not to let mine get under 1/150 if they aren't moving.

regarding posing, most people don't find it that appealing to look up the nostrils, so i'd try a different angle. (i notice with the other thread you posted- you took that one from the feet up, also not the most appealing angle- look how her feet look big in that one and her head is tiny). also, it would be really nice to have both hands in the photo. also, in a portrait, it is desirable ot have eye contact and it would be really nice to have some light in her eyes. try moving close to a window and trying it again.

regarding getting your exif data- you can see that on the side of the page if you use picasa, which is a free photo management software, or, if you upload to flickr, you can right click and get same. you should be able to recover that and add it to your first post.

welcome!

It's blurry. You moved or the kid did. You need to add light to the scene to get a faster shutter speed, or open up the aperture if you can.

+1 on getting the eyes sharper when taking the shot. Also, I think the white balance looks a bit off. I changed this in Lightroom and added a bit of sharpening. Hope you don't mind. I'll delete it if you want.

I didn't really think it was out of focus, but now looking at her hand I agree.

kristenh- Thanks for the advice. I really need to work on my posing. I feel like I'm not very creative/experienced when it comes to that.

donal- I agree about the white balance. The room I was in didn't have very good lighting. Your edit looks a lot more natural.

Like I said in my first post I'm just starting out and I wanted to post to at least see if I had some potential. I really like taking pictures especially when they turn out good and make the "models" happy.
