Default Skin Tones Across a Set

We want your help!!!
IMG_9785

So I shot my best friend's two year old a few days ago, crazy stuff. He almost never stopped running and I decided this would be a good time to try out full manual lol (I normally shoot in aperture priority). I got a few shots that she is happy with at least

So here's the thing: I feel like I have his skin tones all over the place in pp, I love to edit a bit warm and feel like I keep over/under doing it. His whole face was rosy red from running so I was battling that a bit also without quite knowing how to do so (I looked up some tutorials but none had faces nearly as red as his). I know it's uncommon to critique a set but I was wondering if you guys could take a look at this one and let me know what you think about his, skin tones, exposure and overall editing. If there are any you think I should scrap and redo let me know. Be honest, I can take it. And to tell the truth his mom already thinks they're great (ugh) so the 'fixing' part is just to appease me. Please just ignore the comps, I haven't cropped some of them yet and this was my first go at someone that never holds still lol.

Thanks all!

~Ali

Your photos look systematically green to me. It looks like you've used the magenta/green slider to fix the red cheeks and pushed too far.

Instead of using that slider, you might consider desaturating the red just a bit. This will reduce the intensity of that color without adding a green cast.

I agree with Doug, also to me the eyes look over cooked.. unless they really are like that! Apart from that some of them are really lovely.

So I've been having extreme troubles with my Spyder Pro and matching prints and such (went on a rant in the general discussion, so incredibly frustrated atm), and so I've calibrated around 10 times in the past two days, I can now see the green hue you're talking about, thanks guys! His eyes are extremely weird and almost seem to fracture when you're up close to them I'm going to tone it down a bit but it comes out a lot more realistic in print, not so doll like .

I hope you were not offended when I mentioned his eyes.

I have just read your post re the Spyder Pro. I use it, but on a laptop with Windows, and what I print out on my printer is exactly what I see on the screen. So cannot help you there, I am really happy with it..

Oh no offense at all!!! Like I said they are crazy looking when up close but I am going to tone them down a bit, at least for the internet pictures (the prints come out natural looking), I appreciate the honesty!

May I ask what kind of lighting you calibrated and edit under?
