Default Different

I always like to try and shoot something different, I was having fun watching my 3month old play with her hands in the mirror so I started snapping pictures and this is a shot that I got. I would love some CC on the shot, how I edited it, anything really just would like some feed back.
I shot with a canon t2i, lens EF 28-90mm f/4-5.6, ISO 1600, Shutter speed 1/40 sec, F-Stop f/4.5

true most evil is selective coloring... I would applaud the effect if it was done only using film and processed in a dark room... but digital ehhh.

I mostly hate selective coloring, but I like the idea here. There's a comprehensible reason to selectively desaturate the image where you have.

That said, the technique seems a bit weak to me: focus isn't very sharp and the selection boundary doesn't match the edges of the fingers.

With better technique, though, I think I'd like this image quite a bit.
