Hi Zac (?)
I like it including the composition. I feel that her skin on her upper body is over exposed. Can you pull it back a tad? I have been to the National Portrait Gallery today and realise I am a bit anal about balance - so choose to ignore this comment if you wish lol...... I would crop a tad off the left side of the image so she leads a diagonal line through the frame. I like the image.

She still looks very over exposed. Not a big fan of the tilt, either, but that's just taste. The overexposure is the issue.
The crop to the right (foot area) feels very tight. Needs a little bit more room for balance. There is slight shadow area under around her jaw area that makes her look like she has double chin. Also, that flat box behind her - I would have removed it from the scene, especially you were trying to get some texture with your background and foreground, however, that flat box just doesn't do anything but rather makes it look clumsy. To me, her pose just doesn't work as she looks uncomfortable sitting on those tires. The background is a little busy and it doesn't suit what she's wearing. It almost seems like you took the photo in someone's garage. There's a spot on her left arm around the elbow - what is that? Maybe should be cloned out.....? Her lips are very light that it almost seems imperceptible. The B&W conversion doesn't help that. A darker lipstick would have been much better although I think this deserves to be seen in colour as I have a feeling it would look better.... I think that's all I can assess so far. Hope this helps. |

OMG I need to reshoot this ![]() The only thing I want to clarify is that the dress she's wearing is to create contrast with the background. I'm working on every other comment you made. As the above poster said, amazing eye for details. |
