This is a portrait of my beautiful friend Elsie. Her ex her the Autumn girl and I can see why. I am new to photography and would really appreciate some advice. What do you think of the overall picture, lighting, contrast..? |

We do like for you to post your photos here for us. It's soooooooooo much easier to critique if we dont have to flip from one page to another.
Please post your exif information as well. Thanks!

The eyes are great - nice catch lights and overall, sharp image. I agree that the face is washed out though and it loses any dimension. I really like high contrast images myself but there is not enough shadow in this instance for my taste.
As there are areas without much detail in her hair as well perhaps backing off the contrast may be an easy fix and help? TFS |

Hi,
The picture is good, but the light is erasing all her details and skin texture. Try to bring down the exposure and brightness. Another thing to try is to bring out her eyes. I will work on the picture and post it back here in a couple of hours. Check out my website for some examples. |
