i need some comments pls.... how will i improve my portraits???

Selective color is a hard one. Some people don't like it some do. The key to selective color is selecting the color that will bring something to the photo. Although you did a good job as far as getting the color into the shot, you really didn't select anything that adds to the photo. The pink bow draws my attention away from the child's face and the blue clothing doesn't really help with the photo. Keep it up and look for things that will enhance the photo .

Start by getting the eyes in focus. Then, try to get some light in the eyes so they're not pools of dark emptiness. After that, you can play with effects, although if you get the composition and focus right, you might not need the gimmick to make the image work.
