Try to get a smile out of her, at least. Her deadpan look just doesn't work. I agree with the above poster about the pose.

Her hands look massive on that photo. Sharpness is off, pose is well, as Steve said, she looks like she's about to get frisked.
You were too close to her when you took this shot, that's why her hands/arm look huge. A nice, relaxed smile would have benefited her much better than her face against the wall. Sorry there isn't anything really positive I can say at this time......a retake would be really the best course of action. |

I'll repeat what I said on your poll post concerning this same image:
A couple of thoughts on your image -from the look on her face she probably wasn't sure of this shot in the first place which probably led her to not liking it once she saw it - compositionally, there are a few things that may have improved the shot. She's a little too centered in the frame and I find my gaze going past her and looking at the distant, and somewhat uninteresting background. Use of a wider aperture would have helped to separate her from the background..or a tighter crop nearer to her left shoulder would have been another possible option. - the right side of her face is a bit dark, and it may have been better to have her turn her head a little more toward the camera, and off the wall.

generally when using a near field object like the wall, you have the area closest to the camera out of focus then move to focus at the subject. That's not in effect here because of the f-stop and/or the distance to the subject chosen.

What I do is let the models pick the ones they like and work from those because its important the models actually liking the photo for I can work with them in the future for whatever projects, especially if its TF (trade). As for the photo I do like, but as others mentioned its somewhat an unflattering pose. If this is the best photo in 5hrs of shooting I highly recommend practicing a lot more.

If you want honesty.....ok.
Five hours? Really? I don't know how far into the shoot that you got this photo but I hope it was towards the end, otherwise it would have been a long five hours. By the look on her face, the reality is that she just didn't want to be there. It's an expession of "I'll do it if I have to." Were you able to engage with the model? Emotionally, if it isn't working it'll show in the photos every time. I believe that this is no different. I watched as a photographer tried to shoot my then 3 year old son. He is not that hard to work with and as you can imagine is used to a camera in his face (almost everday LOL.) This poor lady tried everything for a photo, but he wouldn't play. I got him to talk to the photographer about his visit to the zoo earlier in the week. Bang "Engaged." What was the brief for the shoot. If it was open to interpretation than maybe a change of location. I'm not going to mention the image itself as the previous comments say it all and I am in total agreement. Good luck and I hope it works out for you Cheers James

She looks like she's thinking, " I'm just another brick in the wall." And she may as well be with that pose as it really does nothing - except make one think what the folk above have already stated. Even if she was turned around with her back against the wall, or facing towards the camera with one side/shoulder against the wall I think you would have had a pose to work with. She's looks like a pretty girl and I'm sure you could do much better to make her and yourself much happier. Your processing certainly improved the tones from the first image, but try again and knock her socks off with the result.
