Default Shot when carrying a baby in a basket

D5100, VR Kit Len 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6, 24mm, ISO2800, 1/60s, f4, Aperture Mode, VR On
Light condition: 5.09 (relative low light )

I take this shot while holding him in a basket. He wanted to take my camera from me..
Questions:
a) Too much noise at ISO 2800?
b) is F4 good for this context ? (F4 is the widest for 24mm)
c) is 24mm good for this context?
d) Will you do this with your baby for a shot?
e) How do you improve the shot?
f) Do you think the finger at leftmost distracting or complementing? Why?
g) I wish to rotate the picture so to make it diagonal because I think the composition is wrong. But I just can't made it.

Bigger size/

Holy Huge Picture, Batman! You might want to resize that.

I am a newbie but here goes, hope it helps...

a) Doesn't look noisy to me, very surprised you shot this at ISO 2800 (why??)

b) F4 seems a wide for this photo; I think it would help if your foreground were less blurry and you could see more of his hand. You can tell he has his finger through the hole in the basket, but since it's a critical part of what you're conveying, it would help (IMO) if it weren't quite AS blurry... some DOF would be great, but I think you took it too far

c) 24mm: I think your focal length/ crop looks fine but not thrilled with the composition which leads me to...

d) I would not attempt this particular shot with my child(ren) because it is very awkward the way his face is chopped up by the basket. I get what you were going for... it dissects his features in an interesting way, but I think the story of your photo is lost in this. He looks "masked" in it totally loses any playful potential of him being in the basket in the first place, and of him trying to obtain the camera. So...

e) I would have hovered a little above the basket rim and taken a wide-angle shot of him reaching for me. Just an idea. Or if more of his face would have shown through the basket hole, I would have attempted a similar composition as yours.

f) distracting, especially because it might be his middle finger (?)

g) I don't recommend rotating as it's already a busy image

HTH!
