Default Too grainy?

This is my first submission to critique! First try at baby photography, she's 2 days old! Do you think it's too grainy? She was in quite a bit of shade. Any other improvements I could make next time? Thanks.

IMO, it's too grainy. Not particularly loving the B/W treatment either, but it's not "bad".

You could do a little post work and soften it up going for that "aww, cute, dreamy" kind of look.

Agreed with Steve. The crop is a bit too tight for me as well, and the bright white blanket is what my eyes go to first. Running it through Noiseware would help with the grain. How did you do your BW conversion? Do you have a SOOC you could post?

I see what you mean about the blanket being the main focal point, I'll try to avoid such a close crop next time, that's the crop SOOC though so yeah, I'll pull out next time.
