Hey Art... no one has replied, so I will give ya a whirl. I would assume it is because nobody really has anything to say one way or the other. I am in the same boat. Composition wise, it falls on thirds so is an accepted practice. It is fine.

I feel a bit like Randy Jackson when I say it is "Just Awlright" for me. Nothing wrong, your image is composed fine, exposure is good, horizon level etc, etc. It is just a safe, been there done seen that image that does not invoke much reaction either way.

Maybe changing angles, like lying on the sand, taken from above.... something to make it different. If the image means something to you, then enjoy. It is a good picture. If you are looking for something more, then (for me) it is kinda boring.

What he said....Maybe if there was a boat or one or two folks in right side of the frame in the background? Otherwise it is a nice picture.

What I tried to do, was to avoid distractors on the subject, but your comment is welcome
Thanks Art

Default From newbie..

Horizontal line: 2 horizontal lines??? just ignore the top one, cut it. It is so distracting. Shot higher and tint camera down? Try to borrow a ladder or climb up a tree ;D

Foot print: where are the beautiful foot prints...?? Flatten the sand with something first ;D

Timing: Wait a while, and get reflection from the sea when the wave hit the boy.. ;D

Angle: Shoot another pic so that the waves form diagonally?

Shot low and get the foot print texture, put it.. at the bottom edge leading to the boy? tint camera down so to obmit the skyline or the other way round.

Dude.... you do realize this is a picture and not a planned shoot? Last time I took a ladder and rake to the beach I got thrown out.

I will give you the 2nd horizon... I thought the crop would be too low, but holding a piece of paper to the screen, it works better with no sky, just waves, good feedback there.

The rest is kinda harsh, because this is not a planned shoot. There is a difference between spur of the moment, candid, photo journalistic and a planned shoot.

Talking Thanks for comment ;D

Thanks very much scootermcq,
I am waiting experts to comment on my comment since i am still very new to photography. I just bought my very first camera on 23 June 2011, and I never been to a beach since after that. I wish to learn how experts look at images before experiencing it. I know commenting is much easier than practical ;D
Again thanks for your valuable comments.
