Default My son, Elijah

Hello DPS people. My son Elijah is 6 months old. I would like to capture every moment of him learning new skills each day like rolling from back to crawling position. I would to ask feedback if how is my focus, white balance, composition and also the exposure. Thanks.

EXIF DATA:
Camera Canon EOS 500D
Exposure 0.017 sec (1/60)
Aperture f/3.5
Focal Length 24 mm
ISO Speed 400
Exposure Bias 0 EV
Flash Off, Did not fire

Elijah

its good to always include a link to the EXIF data - Exif | Elijah | Flickr - Photo Sharing!

anyways I'm not experienced with infant photography but the bokeh looks good to me, the lighting looks like its being shot from the built-in flash (but according to EXIF it's not) which confuses me a lot... the light is too harsh for me, it needs to be soften. But I do see a softbox catch light on his eyes, I would have had the softbox further away... the lighting just looks too cheezy they would be normally seen coming from built-in flash.

program mode... but I checked it by clicking the photo, but putting a link directly to the EXIF would benefit others to posting. Some people who critique, like myself, hate critiquing a photo that was shot in full auto mode... its pointless to critique a full auto mode shot when the photographer has zero understanding what aperture, ISO and shutter means.

if it was a window indoors, I'd put a big white sheet as the curtain, that should soften the light from the harshness thats in the shot.
