Default 2011 Senior CC please

One of my class of 2011 seniors I took back in May. The sun was to the back of her and I filled her face with an AB800 flash.

I am still learning to use my AB flashes outdoors. I normally only use them in the studio.

Any critique would be helpful. Lighting, comp, coloring. Anything Tear it apart if you wish.

Thanks, Shannon

Here are the camera settings:

Exposure Time: 0.0050 s (1/200)

Aperture: f/8.0

ISO Equiv.: 200

Whitebalance: Auto

Exposure: Manual

Tilting the camera is the new selective color. You also cropped her at the knees and have the top of the background wall/building bisecting her head. Dropping or raising your shooting angle a little bit would have gotten her head in a clean spot.

Gotcha. Didnt catch the head on the wall lol.

So on the camera tilting, is that a good thing or bad thing?

I agree on the head thing and cropping at the knee.

As for your camera tilt, I feel that is a personal thing and dependent on the subject. But again, rules are meant to be broken.

Neither. Like selective color and anything else, it is just a technique. But, also like selective color, it is most commonly used without reason or context. Did you do it on purpose because you felt like it added something to the image? If so, what?

Yes, I just felt like adding a different perspective to it.
