Default dancing...

As I learn and grow, I find that Im very picky on sharpness. Most of my challenges recently have been with finding the right balance in settings for sharp images. That said, I know there are times when capturing movement is desired. The shot Im posting, Im feeling unsure about. I was working as a 2nd shooter, to gain some experience, and the dancing was amazing. I find I like it, but Im not sure if I like it because of who was in it, the memories of the amazing dancing, or because its a good photo. The blur has me unsure, is it too much, or enough to capture movement or just a shot to junk. So....tihs is my first post to the critique forum, would love your feedback on this image, as well as when blur is ok/beneficial to image.

Motion blur isn't always a bad thing, and in a situation where it denotes action can be very evocative.

In this case however, I don't feel it comes close to achieving it. Generaly, unless you're looking for a very abstract result, you need at least something in focus and sharp as an anchor, preferably one that is contextual, or emotive.

This image lacks either. If the dancer's face was in the shot and sharp, it would have been much more appealing. The fact we're looking at her back, and that that too isn't sharp, with a multitude of distractions in the background, well, you see where I'm going.

I love the subtle motion blur, however this shot would be 10x better if you got one of their faces in the shot as well. I like it otherwise.
