How Would You Pose This Little Guy?

A friend wanted some pictures of her little guy in his baptismal outfit. What do you think of the pose? His grandma is behind the black cloth holding him. Feel free to comment on anything!!

How do you pose a little baby? Don't think that is really feasible. As far as comments, if I may, you need some accoutrements to enhance the image. Some props that have significance to the baptism, things that are related to the event. Even a close up and shallow DOF photo in momma's arms would still show the outfit. My 2 cents.

I definitely see the point about benefiting from props. Just do not over do it. I do not like most of the baby pictures where the baby is in an unnatural and most probably not comfortable prop. I really cannot stand such pictures. I like the picture you posted because of it simplicity.

Oh how precious -- congrats to your friend on her new blessing!!

Maybe you could lay him on his side or tummy (although that would defeat the purpose of seeing his little man outfit!!) and then have his baptismal cloth or candle near him? (different churches give different items).

I actually like the photo the way it is...all you really need to do is edit it a bit..maybe turn it black and white...

I completely agree. Very often simplicity is the way to go.

Thanks for everyone's comments. I hadn't even thought to convert to black and white!! I did a desaturation in Lightroom.....I really don't have a technique for black and white conversion!! I do think I like it as black and white. Now maybe I could try cloning in the parts of the shoes that are hidden by the cloth.

Any thoughts?
