Here is a shot I did of my niece, Madison, yesterday. I wanted to know if the crop was weird. I wasn't really paying attention while shooting her and ended up not getting her hands in the shot. Also, how is the lighting?

I thought it was cropped after it was shot, but I don't know if its the censor difference than the typical Nikon and Canon has hence its why your photo look more square than rectangle as most non-cropped photos.
Everything else seems fine, just the photo would be stronger if we could see the rest of her hands/arms. After taking another look I noticed a bit pinkness on the white sheet, but I'm not sure if it's my monitor or the sheet itself being light pink, if you do see this as well I'd look in the color levels and attempt to lower the right color to ensure the sheet is showing the proper colors.

14mm is pretty wide for a portrait. She looks too distorted, but I can tell she's an adorable little girl. Any chance you can throw on a 50mm, move back and get this same comp? I think you'd see a big improvement if you did.
