Too close of a crop. Try a little larger as the mic looks odd

Agree with Windy, too tight. All the space you have on the right should be on the left instead. Think Rule of Thirds here.
Focus seems off as well, seems sharper on the mic than on his face (particularly the eyes... yes, even closed eyes should be most in-focus in my opinion). No, you should not invest in Photoshop. Not yet. Lightroom (approx 200usd) maybe, Photoshop 600usd, not yet. Work about nailing it in camera best as possible before thinking of the post processing stuff as post processing of stuff that's not great to begin with doesn't really help. In the end, this image probably means more to you than us as you were there and feel all the other context of the situation. To me, at this point, it's pretty much a snap shot. |
