Default Model Headshot

Recently I went out on a model shoot, and the model asked me to take a new headshot of her. I did so, and this is what I came up with. Although I like it, I still would like to know what I could have done better, in regards to composition, posing of the face, or lighting.

Focus is good....

Compostion wise, they are smack dab in the middle of the frame.... not too interesting.
Lighting is flat
Skin needs a little photoshop love.

The picture itself is nice, but I'm too crazy about the tight crop. I also agree a little (not too much) smart photoshopping on the skin would improve the picture.

I agree with the other photographers about using some photoshopt, the photo looks like it has zero photoshop or any form of processing. If you have lightroom bump up the contrast to give some "BOOM."

Also based on the EXIF try your best to aim for low ISO but I'm not sure if you could go lower on the aperture but if you could you can bring in more light, if you can't widen the aperture you could also lower the shutter to 1/60th to bring in more light and avoid the use of the higher ISO and you could have the photo a tad sharper, especially in print where it would matter more than web quality.

What's the lens you used on this photo?
EDIT...

I checked the flickr part of this photo to view the EXIF and saw you used a 55.0-300.0 mm f/4.5-5.6 and shot it at 270 mm. I highly recommend shooting with a smaller lens to get more sharpness and faster aperture, I use my 50mm f/1.8 lens and I love it, it’s a whole lot more sharper than my kit lens and of course I can shoot outdoors much easier with low light situations, and get great bokeh.

I also noticed in the EXIF on flickr is the resolution, have it set to 72dpi its unnecessary for web purposes only to have it any higher unless it’s for instructional purposes or other special usages, but to just show it 72dpi is the basic resolution for web.
