Default Can't put my finger on it.....

IMG_9809

Camera Canon EOS REBEL T2i
Exposure 0.01 sec (1/100)
Aperture f/5.6
Focal Length 55 mm
ISO Speed 500
Exposure Bias 0 EV
Flash Off, Did not fire

I really like this picture (maybe because I'm a little partial to the model), but there's something about it that's bothering me and I can't put my finger on it. Anything? Is the fence post behind her head too distracting? Should I crop it down some? Anything else I'm missing??

IMHO, yes edit the post. The image seems a bit flat and the reds are too hot. My suggestion is to try bringing down the reds and only then increase the vibrancy and pump up the black level a tad. Then, I suggest adding a darken vignette. Try it and see. I could be totally wrong. It is a nice pic to begin with. But, any pic can be tweeked.

i think the photo was just taken at an awkward angle. there's nothing sucking you in; she's not looking at the camera, and there isn't enough space in the frame for her to be looking into. did you crop this, or is this how the photo was originally framed?

i think you could up the exposure on this one, as well! cute girl for sure

The photo seems very flat to me. (Was this shot in RAW and left at the defaults?)

I'd recommend raising the exposure and adding contrast to improve the colors.

As noted, the pose looks a bit awkward. I think this can be helped some by cropping in from the bottom left. This will also give the subject relatively more space to the right (the direction she is looking in).

It looks to me like the focus is on the straps of her top instead of her face. I also think the way she's kinda hunched over is a little odd.... but still, she's adorable and it's a nice picture
