Without seeing EXIF, it's hard to suggest what to fix, but the image looks a bit underexposed to me. Edit your post and add the shutter speed, aperture, ISO, camera, and focal length. Bump the ISO up, slow the shutter speed, open the aperture, add some flash. Any combination of those should fix the exposure issue.
The composition is a bit centered and tilted a little to the left. A bit of rotation could be good to straighten things up, and shooting (or cropping) a little tighter and filling the frame a bit more could help make better use of the centered composition. |

This is a shot that it would really help to have your Exif data for critique. (See the forum rules.)
In general: I'd look for a wider aperture to blur the background. I'd straighten the photo (you're tilting to the right, which is exacerbated by the hill in the background). I'd try to avoid bisecting the right boy's head with the top of the trees. If you can shoot from low enough to get both boys' heads against the sky, that could work. But the sky looks pretty bland, so you might want to try for something different. I'd raise contrast in post. I'd try to get better light on the right boy. When he turned away from the light, most of his face dropped into shadow. Compare his face with that of the boy on the left. Very nice subject, though. HTH |

I increased the exposure just a little; I gave it a bit more contrast; I used the dodge tool, slightly, on the kids' faces; I straightened the picture; and I sharpened it, not too much, though. I think that was all. I'm glad you liked it.
