Default Fisherman

Saw this guy fishing the other day and he looked so peaceful and content, had to grab a pic.

For my newbie eyes, it almost looks perfect! I don't know anything about fishing, so I don't know the name of the end of the pole...the thing that is swinging in the air? If its movement had been freezed, it would have been perfect for me. I don't even know if that is technically possible with the lighting available though.

Thanks for the kind words. The light was a bit tricky , sunrise was backlighting but he was in the shade of a building . Shot it at 1/800 and was trying to get the focus on his hand and the fishing reel , i am pleased with the bit of motion i got on the rod tip , just not quick enough to freeze the lure .

Btw shot this raw , converted to b&w in LR the just filled in the blacks to silhouette the person .

Basically I like the picture but something feels wrong about the background. I'm having trouble putting my emotions into words (sounds like I'm talking to a shrink) but imagine how the picture would look if the camera had a lower position and you'd have more sky and less water in the background. I think I'd like that more.
